Top Ships seals new charter with BP
Splash247 reports a new two-year BP Shipping charter for Eco Revolution, a 2016-built product and chemical tanker. The fixture was scheduled to begin in January 2019 immediately after the vessel’s previous BP contract expired, providing continuity of employment with the same charterer.
TOP Ships expected the new contract to generate approximately $10m of revenue. Management described the agreement as support for its vessel and management strategy and reported that the fixture extended the company’s firm charter coverage. The article records the commercial terms announced in November 2018, rather than treating that historical contract as the vessel’s current employment.
